A 22-year-old Burlington man who died following a single vehicle crash on Saturday has been identified.

Friends and family say Nick Wilson was the young man who passed away after his car rolled over several times and landed in a field at Walkers Line south of Britannia Rd.

Investigators determined that the driver was travelling too fast for the wet road conditions and for the lay of the road, which was a sharp left bend at Britannia Road.

Wilson’s mother, Karen, posted on Facebook about her grief over her son’s death. “I am posting this as I don’t want to have to explain and go over this tragedy every time I speak with someone. It is with the utmost sadness and unexplainable grief that I can’t even to begin to put into words. My son and the light of my life Nick was in a car accident last night and he did not survive. We are overcome with grief and pain. I don’t know what else to say but that a light when out in my life and will never come on again. I loved him more than anyone could ever imagine. Godspeed my sweet baby and angel. I wouldn’t trade the last 22 years for anything. I know we will meet again.”
