Dofasco donates $1 million to Mohawk College for new technology labs

ArcelorMittal Dofasco has made a $1 million donation for the renewal of technology programs at Mohawk College.
The donation will go towards the construction and renovations of 120, 000 square feet of technology labs and classrooms at Mohawk’s Fennell campus including 90,000 square feet of newly-built structures.
“Mohawk College’s commitment to renewal of technology education makes our partnership even stronger and we know The Joyce Centre for Partnership & Innovation will deliver for students, employers, the City of Hamilton and the Province of Ontario,” said Sean Donnelly, President and CEO, ArcelorMittal Dofasco.
The college is expecting enrollment in high-demand technology programs to increase from 3,500 to 4,000 full-time students.
Mohawk College President Ron McKerlie says the donation supports the largest renewal of labs and classrooms in the college’s 50-year history.
