Woodstock nurse accused of killing 8 seniors to appear in court

The registered nurse accused of killing eight seniors at two long-term care homes will appear in a Woodstock court today.

Elizabeth Wettlaufer, 49, is charged with eight counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Arpad Horvath, 75, Maureen Pickering, 79, James Silcox, 84, Maurice Granat, 84, Gladys Millard, 87, Helen Matheson, 95, Mary Zurawinski, 96, Helen Young, 90.

Seven of the victims lived at the Caressant Care Long-Term Care facility in Woodstock while the eighth person was a patient at the Meadow Park Long term care facility in London.

Police would not say exactly how they died, except that 7 of them received a fatal dose of a drug.
