HAPPENING NOW:

School and pink eye

Now that kids are back in school, brace yourself for more cases of “pinkeye”.

It’s one of the top reasons why children miss school or daycare.

To reduce the chances of getting pink eye, or conjunctivitis, wash your hands more often and get your children to do the same.

In most cases, pink eye can be treated with eye drops and lasts only a few days.

But, it’s important to keep affected children isolated until it clears up.

Newborns have an especially high risk of developing pinkeye, which can lead to serious problems if left untreated.
