HAPPENING NOW:
Ginkgo not effective against Alzheimers
A major study from Europe shows taking ginkgo biloba supplements does nothing to protect against Alzheimer’s disease.
The research included nearly 3,000 people in France over age 70.
Neither the doctors nor the study participants knew whether they were taking real ginkgo biloba or a placebo.
After 5 years, there was no significant difference between the groups in the number of people with alzheimer’s or in those who’d had a stroke or had died.
