HAPPENING NOW:

Steroids effect kids height

Some children who use certain inhaled steroids to treat asthma may grow up to be shorter than their peers.

Researchers found kids who were given the steroid twice a day were about a half an inch shorter than those who took other asthma drugs, or no drugs at all.

Researchers encourage doctors to monitor the growth of their patients on this steroid, and emphasize that the drugs do help children more than they harm.
