HAPPENING NOW:

Helping parents & children with cleft lip and palate

The cause is most often unknown, but one in every 700-babies born will have a cleft lip or palate.

While it’s a shock to parents and family and can make the first year or so challenging, it is treatable. Maria Hayes reports that Hamilton has a team of specialists dedicated to their work.

The specialists who make up the cleft lip and palate team at the McMaster Children’s Hospital are celebrating the department’s 25th anniversary. They’re including the families and children they’ve helped over the last quarter century.

The event is scheduled for the afternoon of September 15th, at the Chedoke site. Parents are asked to rsvp by either emailing cleftteam25years@hhsc.ca, or by calling 905-521-2100, extension 77069.
