Niagara College Project Brew

Today is a big day for 18 student brewers at Niagara College. For months, they’ve been fermenting and infusing their own beers and tonight, the graduating class will show off their personal tastes and skills at the college’s beer festival in downtown St.Catharines.

“It is basically 18 beers from 18 brewers coming into the market in Ontario. Beers that you never had before and beers you’ll probably have to wait a few years until they are made again.” John Downing, brewmaster.

A range of beers are available, including a selection of saisons, lagers, and pale ales and not only do students get to showcase their beers but the project gives students an opportunity to experience all aspects of planning , from marketing and logistics to working with vendors.
