Man killed in industrial accident

A falling steel coil has killed a man at JANCO Steel in Stoney Creek.

It happened just before noon today at JANCO Steel Limited on Arvin Avenue. Both Hamilton police and the Ministry of Labour are investigating. When officers arrived on scene they discovered a male had died after a steel coil fell on top of him.

The identity of the man killed is not being released at this time as officials work on notifying family members.  More information is expected to be made available tomorrow.
