Man with sword arrested in Hamilton

On May 14, just before 4:00am, Hamilton Police received calls that there was a man with a sword standing outside the 711 store.

The police were told that the man with the sword appeared to be making threats about harming someone.

Police responded and located the man standing outside.

The officers could see what they believed to be a sword next to the man as they approached to investigate.

The officers were able to talk with the man and he was arrested without incident.

Police seized a large Samurai style sword and began investigating.

29 year old, Andrew Ribson from Hamilton is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

No one was injured.
