The rivalry between Hamilton and Toronto is one of the most intense in the country and over the weekend the competition between these two cities reached its boiling point. They held a food showdown that’s their version of the Labour day classic.

12 restaurants and food vendors from Hamilton and Toronto crossed forks in the first ever pop-up wars where foodies vote for their dish of choice. Almost a 1000 people chowed down on everything from Hawiian cuisine, squid-ink pasta and deepfried meelworms.

Home field advantage paid off, Hamilton’s vendors collected the most votes to secure victory but don’t expect this to be the last edition of these pop-up wars.
