Man charged with stunt driving on Main St. East

On April 30, shortly after midnight, a Hamilton Police officer was conducting traffic checks in the area of Main Street East just east of Gage Avenue South.
While situated in the area the officer first heard the sounds of tires squealing and the sound of a revving engine.
The police officer saw a white sedan he suspected of travelling well above the speed limit approaching him going east along Main Street East.
The officer used a radar gun on white sedan and clocked the vehicle going 119km/hr.
The officer was able to stop and pull the driver over without incident.
The 20 year old man from Stoney Creek driving the vehicle was charged with stunt driving. His licence was seized and suspended for 7 days and his vehicle towed and impounded.
