Detectives investigate a robbery on Barton Street East

On Wednesday April 27, just after 9:30pm, Hamilton Police received reports of a robbery that occurred at the Big Bee variety store located at 1528 Barton Street East in Hamilton.

Reports indicate that a male suspect entered the store with his face covered and approached the victim. The suspect made demands for cash while he was observed to be holding what was believed to be a knife. The victim gave the suspect a small amount of cash and the suspect fled the store.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as:

• White male
• 30-35 years old
• 6’0”, heavy build
• wearing: light coloured jacket with a hood, dark clothing covering his face, blue jeans and dark coloured shoes.

Detectives from the Hamilton Police BEAR Unit continue to investigate.
