Plans have been unveiled to dramatically change Hamilton’s West Harbour.

The city of Hamilton, together with Toronto architect firm Brook McIlroy, has released a redesign of the area where the Discovery Centre, Williams Fresh Cafe and a skating rink are currently located.

It calls for a mix of business, park and housing space with spots for 1600 residential units.

The city hopes to have the project started in a couple of years. The plans will be presented to the city of Hamilton’s planning committee next month.
