Oakville resident charged with multiple pharmacy robberies.

On Tuesday March 8th Halton Police responded to a report of a robbery at a Shoppers Drug Mart store located at 1101 Upper Middle Road in Oakville. A male entered the store and demanded prescription drugs from a staff member. The staff member handed over a large quantity of narcotics valued at about $1900. The suspect then left the store.

After further investigation an Oakville resident who investigators believe is also responsible for similar robberies in Oakville and Burlington was arrested.

These robberies include:

February 21st, 2016 – Brant Medican Arts Centre located at 673 Brant Street in Burlington
February 12th 2016 – Pharma Save store located at 2501 Guelph Line Burlington.
January 28th 2016 – Shoppers Drug Mart located at 1011 Upper Middle Road Oakville.

Investigators also executed a search warrant in the Edwards Court residential area in North Oakville and seized a large quantity or prescription pain killers, notably Oxycodone. Other items related to the robberies were also seized.

Richard Mathers, 36 years of age from Oakville was charged with 4 counts of robbery and wearing a disguise. He has been held in custody for a pending bail hearing.
