Eczema and chemicals

A study shows a common household chemical may cause eczema.

Eczema is a dry, itchy skin condition.

In a study from Columbia University, women who were exposed to high levels of a chemical called butyl-benzyl phthalate during pregnancy were more likely to have children with eczema.

The chemical is found in vinyl flooring and artificial leather.
