Disturbance in St. Catharines’ courthouse

A disturbance inside the St. Catharines courthouse on Wednesday was quickly brought under control after a prisoner broke the glass surrounding the prisoner’s box.
The incident took place just shortly after 11:30am at the Robert S K. Welch courthouse in St. Catharines.
The man who was in custody was brought before the Justice of Peace when he became agitated and became violent with his escort officers. The man was in handcuffs at the time and broke the glass and attempted to get out of the prisoner’s box.
Two Niagara Regional Police Special Constables suffered minor injures and were treated a local hospital.
33 year old, Jonathan Clark Grabenski will be charged with:
– 2 Counts of Assault Police
– 1 Count of Mischief Under $5000
– 3 Counts of Failing to Comply with a Probation Order
Grabenski remains in custody
