Hamilton Police continuing their investigation today into the city’s second murder of the year.

Forensics Officers could be seen going in and out of the residence on Birge Street where Richard Crowder died over the weekend. Hamilton Police Investigators are working with the Niagara Police’s Forensic Unit to utilize their Bloodstain Pattern Analysis Expert as part of the investigation.

Police believe the 31-year old was stabbed inside a unit in the home Sunday afternoon and was bleeding badly when he came outside and collapsed. The father of two young boys later died in hospital.

Police say the person they are looking for is not a resident of the building and have released this description: tanned complexion, in his 30s around 5’9 with a slim build and short dark hair. He arrived at the building on a bicycle but ran away after the stabbing. If you have any information you are asked to call the police.

There is now a Go Fund Me account set up to help with funeral costs and to help provide for his children. If you wish to donate go to www.gofundme.com/richardcrowder
