The Oakville men who died in a fiery crash on the QEW will forever be remembered as hockey fans, both men were just 23-years old. Their families want to create a memorial hockey game to honour their memories.
Timothy Boissiere and Michael Calderone were driving to their hockey game the night they were killed. The SUV they were travelling in became involved in a four vehicle crash on the QEW near Trafalgar road.
Timothy’s sister Rachel teamed up with her sister Kimberly and with Michael’s sister Larissa and started a Go Fund Me page to help cover the costs of a memorial hockey game. The account was set up on Sunday January 10th with a goal of reaching $5 000, just 4 days later they have surpassed that amount.
The sisters say the money raised will go towards renting a rink and buying special jerseys along with all the other costs involved in hosting an event. Any extra money will go towards making the game an annual event.
“I want to do everything for him because his life was cut to short and I want to keep the memory alive for as long as I can.”
