UPDATE

Hamilton police are investigating an early morning home invasion in the city’s east end.

Police say three males forced their way inside a home on Tuxedo Ave. North around 2 a.m. Friday.

A woman was home at the time and was confronted by the trio who demanded money and jewellery.

Police say the woman was forcibly confined and assaulted while her home was ransacked. They say a handgun was reportedly seen during the incident.

The suspects left in a dark coloured vehicle with tinted windows. It was last seen driving eastbound on Dunsmure Rd. before turning southbound onto Kenilworth Ave. North.

The victim ran to a local convenience store to call 911. Police say she received minor injuries in the attack.

Investigators believe the incident was targetted.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact Det. Cst. Caroline Wojtasik at 905-546-2406.
