OPP appeal for witnesses after child struck by police cruiser

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a child was struck by a police cruiser in Gravenhurst.

It happened on Muskoka Rd. North around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say an officer was turning into a commercial parking lot when the cruiser collided with a 10-year-old cyclist travelling southbound on the sidewalk.

The boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries. He has since been released.

The Central Region Traffic Management Team has taken over the investigation. Police are asking any witnesses to contact Bracebridge OPP at 1-705-645-2211.
