Man in hospital following altercation in central Hamilton

Hamilton police say a 36-year-old man was injured after an altercation in central Hamilton last night.
It happened near the intersection of King St. East and Emerald St. North around 11 p.m. Monday.
Police say the man received medical treatment for a “wound to the abdomen.” They say his injury is non-life threatening and not considered to be serious.
An area surrounding a building on Emerald St. was taped off while police investigated the incident.
“No weapon has been recovered and it is unknown what caused his injury,” said Cst. Jerome Stewart.
Investigators say the victim is not cooperating with police.
There is no suspect description at this time.
Hamilton Police Division One Detective’s Office continues to investigate.
