Pride Hamilton has said the past month has been difficult to process. Participants say the violence at the pride celebration at Gage Park on June 15th was just the beginning.

Many in the gay community have spoken out and criticized the way Hamilton police and city hall have reacted in the aftermath.

Many saying they want to support each other and be able to trust police and city council again.

Several Hamilton city councillors attended the celebration and say listening and learning from the community is the way to move forward.

At the rally, there was drumming, and dancing the yellow vests who protest every weekend at city hall were forced to the opposite side of the road.

One of the organizers of the pride event says, later on, this month there will be another LGBTQ community meeting to de-brief, and talk about the trauma and hurt many have been feeling.
