Hamilton police investigate after teen found with stab wounds

Police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was found with multiple stab wounds in downtown Hamilton.

A citizen called police around 11 p.m. Thursday after they were approached by a teen who was bleeding from the head.

Police say the boy was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his back and upper torso. His injuries are believed to be serious but non-life threatening.

Officers have not been able to speak to the victim because he has been sedated in hospital.

Members of the Hamilton police K9 unit and tactical officers searched the area but did not find any suspects. Police believe the stabbing may have taken place elsewhere.
