OPP say there are no injuries in a massive barn fire near Waterford that caused millions of dollars worth of damage.

Norfolk Country Fire crews were called to a farm near Windham Rd. 7 in Windham Centre around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

“Crews arrived and heavy fire when they first arrived on scene,” said Norfolk Fire Asst. Chief Scott Pipe.

“Crews have done an excellent job dealing with a very difficult fire.”

Firefighters from several municipalities including Haldimand and Brant County arrived to help.

Crews were able to save a house on the property and another barn.

Officials say the damage estimate is so high because of the equipment and machinery that was stored in the barn.

Provincial Police closed several streets in the area but they have since re-opened.

They say no people or animals were hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
