Man arrested in shooting on Stoney Creek mountain

Hamilton police say an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting on Stoney Creek mountain earlier this year.

On April 23, police were called to a townhouse complex near Echovalley Dr. around 9:30 p.m.

A witness told officers they heard a noise earlier in the day around 8 a.m. that sounded like gunshots.

They also reported seeing a man run inside one of the units and two other males run away from the survey.

In a news release issued on April 24, investigators said they were looking for two men who were dressed in construction type clothing with yellow hard hats and white breathing masks over their faces.

On Tuesday, police said a man was arrested in Ottawa. They say the man was initially brought into custody on an unrelated matter but would not provide further details about the arrest.

Hamilton police are expected to release more information later Tuesday.
