61-year-old man stabbed inside a Oakville home, man charged

Halton police say a man was stabbed in his Oakville home Saturday night.
Several police crusiers rushed to the scene after a 911 call came in just after 10:30 p.m. Police say they arrived to find a 61-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his torso from a knife.
He was taken to hospital in stable condition and a 22-year-old man was taken into custody.
Witnesses say the suspect is actually the victim’s son, but that detail has not been confirmed by police.
An online search of the home’s address shows it belongs to a Michael Downs. Neighbour’s have identified the homeowner as ‘Mike’.
Police have not provide any of other information about the people involved but say the two men knew each other.
A forensic identification unit has processed the home and police say the investigation has been completed.
The man detained by police will appear in court in Milton on Monday.
