$6,000 in mostly coins stolen from Laundromat: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police is investigating after roughly $6,000 in mostly coins was stolen from a Walkerton Laundromat.

Police were called to a break and enter at the Walkerton Coin Wash Laundromat on Colborne St. on Tuesday.

Investigators say cash was stolen from the change machines and coin-operated washing machines and driers sometime between 11 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

The equipment sustained a significant about of damage during the theft.

Police say some dollar bills were taken but most of the money stolen was in coins.

OPP are asking banks and businesses in the area to keep their eyes open for anyone using large quantities of change.
