The Musitano family and Hamilton history

The Musitano crime family has a long history in Hamilton, but in the past couple of years has been the target of violence and death. Pat Musitano’s brother, Angelo, was gunned down in his driveway almost two years ago in broad daylight. He was 39 years old.

Twenty-eight-year old veterinary assistant Mila Barberi was killed she was in the drivers seat of a BMW picking up her boyfriend, Saverio Serrano, who police believe was the intended target. He was also shot but survived. Police charged Hamilton’s Jabril Hassan Abdalla in connection with the murders. He was arrested last summer and an international manhunt was launched for two others in a pair of alleged mob hits. Abdalla was a Mohawk College student and worked at the college rec centre when he was arrested.

During the investigation, police scoured thousands of hours of surveillance video and determined that Jabril Abdalla, Michael Cudmore, and Daniel Tomassetti began surveillance of their victims on October 19 2016.

In September of last year, Al Iavarone was killed by a gunman who waited for him in the bushes outside his Ancaster home on Sunflower Crescent. His wife and kids were inside at the time. At the time police wouldn’t say if the murder was connected.

Earlier this year, police were called to 56 Mountain Brow blvd. Records show the house is owned by Rocco and Helen Luppino, but police say their son 43 year old Cece Luppino was living there, he was alone at the time of the shooting, and was found dead by a family member.

Mob experts say Rocco Luppino is a big player in the local mafia. Detectives wouldn’t confirm it was a mob hit at the time, but they say Cece Luppino was definitely targeted.

We asked Hamilton Police today if they are working with Peel police on today’s shooting involving Pat Musitano and if they believe there is a connection with Angelo’s death. We also requested an update on the Luppino murder but have not heard back from police on any of our questions.
