‘Armed and dangerous’ suspect sought in Brantford shooting

Brantford police are hoping the public can help locate a man wanted in connection with an early morning shooting in the city’s downtown core.
Police are looking for Chad Wray-McCombs, 29. He is wanted for aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and a variety of weapons-related offences.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots in an alleyway behind a Dalhousie St. complex near Queen and King streets around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
A 23-year-old man was later found suffering from a gunshot wound at a different location but police believe the two incidents are related.
Police have arrested 25-year-old Lori Ruth Ann Staats in connection with the incident.
Investigators say Wray-McCombs should be considered “armed and dangerous.”
Anyone who sees him is being warned not to approach, but call 911.
If you have information that could help with the investigation, police are asking you to contact Det. Mark Whitworth at 519-756-0113, ext. 2266.
