Alleged serial bank robber caught by Hamilton police

A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with multiple bank robberies in Hamilton.
Police say a man wearing sunglasses entered the Scotia Bank branch on Stone Church Rd. on April 11. He handed a note to a bank employee and demanded cash.
The thief managed to flee the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
The following day, similar robberies happened at a BMO branch on Fennell Ave. East and another branch on Queenston Rd. Police say the thief presented a robbery note but fled the scene empty handed in both incidents.
On Monday, police arrested James Murphy, of Hamilton, at a home around 8 p.m.
He is charged with three counts each of robbery and disguise with intent.
