Thief targets lockers at GoodLife Fitness gym in Hamilton

A Hamilton teenager has been arrested after a locker was broken into at a Hamilton Mountain gym and several items were stolen.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the GoodLife Fitness at 1070 Stone Church Rd. East.
Gym members reported to staff that their locker had been broken into and items were taken.
A witness told police he saw someone attempting to get inside one of the lockers in the change room. The suspect was stopped and held until officers arrived on scene.
Police say he was found to be in possession of stolen identification including credit cards not related to the gym theft.
“The suspect had also turned over to staff items he obtained from a locker in this incident,” said Hamilton police in a news release.
An 18-year-old man is facing two charges of possession of stolen credit card.
Police are investigating similar incidents that have happened at the same GoodLife location as well as the YMCA at 356 Rymal Rd. East.
Anyone who has been a victim of theft at either of these locations is asked to contact police.
