HAPPENING NOW:

Hearing loss and falls

Adults with hearing loss may be more likely to suffer a fall.

A new study looked at two thousand adults age forty and up.

Each underwent a hearing test and answered questions about whether they had fallen in the past year.

Researchers analyzed the data and found those with mild hearing loss were three times more likely to have a history of falling.

Experts say people who can’t hear may not have a good grasp on their environment, and are therefore more likely to trip and fall.
