Hamilton police are appealing for witnesses after a 93-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night.

Police were called to Upper Wentworth St. near East 24th St. just before 7 p.m.

They say Larry Maughan was crossing Upper Wentworth from Hill Park when he was struck by the vehicle.

The driver is a 24 year old man from Burlington. He stayed at the scene and is co-operating with police.

Investigators are continuing their investigation Friday to determine if any charges will be laid.

Police have ruled out drunk driving but say they are looking into speed and distracted driving.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
