Four Hamilton teens arrested in $30K cell phone theft ring

Halton police have arrested four Hamilton teenagers accused of stealing roughly $30,000 worth of high end cell phones.

Police say since Oct. 25, five separate Best Buy stores throughout the Greater Toronto Area were targeted in a theft ring.

On Nov. 23, officers arrested 18-year-old Joseph Pope, of Hamilton, as well as three youths, aged 15, 16, and 17. All four teenagers are facing charges of theft under and over $5,000.

Pope also faces a charge of possession of property obtained by crime.

The youths cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
