The largest indoor Remembrance Day ceremony was held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. More than 2,500 people gathered to honour the brave men and women who served our country. This year, only a dozen World War Two veterans were present.

It was a time to remember those who died for our freedom.

To honour those who are still with us. People who suffered and sacrificed so much.

Each year the number of World War Two veterans present for the special Remembrance Day ceremony dwindles, but today was also a reminder that these elderly men and women were once young and courageous.

Young people continue to serve our country. Veterans from the war in Afghanistan were recognized today as well.

The last post was played, as war planes flew over head.

A commitment to remember the sacrifice with the hopes that history won’t repeat itself.

The Hamilton sign at City Hall has been lit up in red and white for Remembrance Day. Across the city and across the country, Canadians are remembering.
