Elderly woman struck in Burlington

Halton Regional Police are asking witnesses to come forward after an elderly woman was struck by a vehicle in Burlington.
Officers were called to a collision involving a pick-up truck at the intersection of New St. and Drury Ln. Thursday morning.
Police say the initial investigation suggests the truck was making a left turn and struck a 94-year-old woman in a mobility scooter in the crosswalk.
The woman was taken to Hamilton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The intersection was closed for approximately five hours for the investigation.
Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905 825-4747 ext. 5065.
