Six people trapped in car rollover in Ancaster

The OPP are investigating a crash on the 403 Westbound in Ancaster at Highway 52 that trapped six people inside a car.

The crash happened just before midnight. Hamilton Fire and EMS crews were called to the scene after an SUV rolled over into a ditch. The first crew on scene confirmed eight people were involved and six people were trapped inside the car that was on its roof in the ditch. Fire crews used airbag rescue operations and the jaws of life to stablize the car and free everyone.

There are reports that several people, including children, were not wearing their seatbelts.

Six people were taken to the Hamilton area trauma center and McMaster Childrens Hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.
