Tim Hortons head office moving from Oakville to Toronto

Tim Hortons has announced that the company will move roughly 400 employees from their current head office on Sinclair rd in Oakville to Toronto later this year.
The company will occupy a 65,000-square-foot space in the Exchange Tower on King St. East in the city’s downtown core.
“This major metropolitan environment will provide a platform for us to further expand our leadership in Canada by bringing us closer to our business partners and the people on the front lines of tomorrow’s industry trends,” said Alex Macedo, President of Tim Hortons in a news release.
A company spokesperson said the Tims university training centre will stay in Oakville and there won’t be any job losses with the move. The company’s head office has been located in Oakville for more than 50 years.
Macedo said the decision was not one they have taken lightly. “The town of Oakville has been incredibly supportive of us as we’ve grown over the last 50+ years and we will always be grateful. But, as we look at our bold plans for the future of Tim Hortons, downtown Toronto comes up as an ideal setting for us as we continue to evolve to meet the needs of our Guests,” he said.
The company says innovation labs, idea sharing and creativity will be core to the new space.
