OPP investigate fatal crash in Dunnville

One person is dead following a head-on collision in Dunnville.

Emergency crews were called to a crash on Highway 3 between Hutchinson Rd. and Crown Rd. just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a vehicle was travelling eastbound when it struck a large construction type truck that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The male driver of the smaller vehicle had to be extricated by firefighters. He was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries where he later died.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man pending notification of his next of kin.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Highway 3 remains closed between Hutchinson Rd. and Crown Rd. while emergency crews and investigators are on scene.
