Thorold family’s home completely destroyed in fire

A family home in Thorold has been destroyed after a fire broke out Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters arrived to find the home on Turner Rd. fully engulfed in flames.
Water tankers from neighbouring communities were brought in to help because there are no fire hydrants in the rural area.
Thorold Fire and Emergency Services said crews were able to get the fire under control and heavy equipment was brought in to battle hot spots.
The structure partially collapsed as firefighters doused the flames with water.
No one was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has yet to be released.
