Canadian unemployment rate drops
There’s very good news when it comes to jobs across the country.
Canada’s unemployment rate has dropped to 7.1% from 7.3%.
There were 61,000 new jobs created in September.
That number surprised analysts who expected a more modest increase of 15,000 jobs.
There were gains in a number of areas within the service industry.
Self-employed and public sector jobs also increased but the key manufacturing sector lost 23,500 workers.
