Listeria warning
You’re being warned not to eat a certain brand of smoked salmon.
Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health is warning people not to eat a Strubs brand of smoked salmon as it may be contaminated with listeria.
Of concern is ready-to-eat smoked salmon distributed in 250 gram vacuum packs.
Listeria can cause listeriosis, a serious but rare illness that usually manifests as mild flu-like illness.
You should either throw the smoked salmon out or return it to the retailer.
There have been no reported illnesses.
