Getting kids’ shots in before school

We often talk about vaccinations during flu season.

But there are many other types of vaccines that parents need to be mindful of – especially if your little one is heading off to school this fall.
Maria Hayes explains.

In 1996, the province determined it was necessary to administer two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. One just wasn’t enough to last a lifetime.
Experts say it’s important for people between the ages of 18 and 25 to check with their doctor to see if they’ve had the second dose.

You should also look into it if you attend a post-secondary school, are a healthcare worker or if you travel abroad.
