Ontario reports record 2,005 new COVID-19 infections, 18 deaths

Ontario is reporting a record 2,005 new cases of COVID-19 and 18 deaths. This is the first time in 13 days the province has recorded less than 2,100 new infections.
The province is also announcing the number of completed tests over the last three days. Yesterday 41,783 tests were completed. There were 49,511 on December 25th and 61,465 on December 24th.
There are 823 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario. There are 285 people in ICU with 194 of those on ventilators.
The province’s death toll from the virus is now at 4,377 people.
