Hamilton police believe they’ve located vehicle involved in hit-and-run last month

Hamilton Police say they believe they have located the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run with a pedestrian at Stone Church Rd. and Redmond Dr. last month.

Police released surveillance video of Maddy Murphy being struck by a vehicle while in the crosswalk at the intersection just over a week ago.

The driver didn’t stop or slow down.

On Thursday, police told CHCH News they believe they located the van.

“This is one step among several that are required in an investigation of this nature,” said Const. Jerome Stewart in an email.

“Therefore it is still too early to determine the outcome of the investigation.”

Stewart says it was a tip from the public that led police to the vehicle but wouldn’t say where it was found.
