Ontario reports 1,723 new COVID-19 cases, 35 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,723 new cases of COVID-19 and 35 deaths.
An additional 1,686 cases were marked as resolved.
Numbers released Wednesday come as the province completed 44,226 tests with 45,974 tests under investigation.
Ontario is reporting 1,723 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 500 new cases in Peel, 410 in Toronto and 196 in York Region. There are 1,686 more resolved cases and over 44,200 tests completed.

Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 4 new cases, 44 active cases
Brant: 10 new cases, 66 active cases, 6 in hospital
Niagara: 20 new cases, 209 active cases, 1 death, 9 in hospital
Halton: 61 new cases, 760 active cases, 1 death, 18 in hospital
Hamilton: 25 new cases, 546 active cases, 1 death, 26 in hospital
There are 656 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario. There are 183 people in intensive care with 106 of those on ventilators.
There were 166 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province’s schools.
