Bill Cosby appeal heads to Pennsylvania Supreme Court

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will hear oral arguments for Bill Cosby’s appeal on Tuesday.

Cosby is trying to overturn his 2018 sex assault conviction and his three-to-ten year prison sentence.

His lawyers argue the judge improperly allowed testimony from women other than the main accuser, Canadian Andrea Constand.

Those women were among more than 50 who had accused Cosby of sexual misconduct.

Prosecutors hoped to show a pattern of behaviour, but Cosby’s lawyers blamed the conviction on what they called “the fervour of the MeToo movement.”

A ruling is not expected until sometime next year.
