Hamilton Police are warning the public to be vigilant after a street robbery on the east mountain.

Police say a man got out of a dark-coloured sedan and approached a youth who was walking along Brucedale Ave. in front of Inch Park around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The man said he had a weapon and “physically accosted” the victim.

Police say he took the victim’s high-end winter coat and running shoes and took off in the sedan.

The victim was not physically injured and did not see a weapon.

Police say the suspect was described as black, between 16 to 18 years old with a medium build.

In January, Hamilton Police made arrests in connection with street robberies targeting high-end winter coats.

This is the first recently reported incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-546-8970.
