Hamilton man charged with fraud in Havana Group Supplies investigation

A Hamilton man has been charged with fraud in connection with an investigation into a company linked to Pat Musitano.

Halton Regional Police say its fraud unit began an investigation into Havana Group Supplies in May of 2019.

They say the founders of the company fraudulently claimed to have procured lucrative construction contracts in the province.

These contracts were then used to recruit smaller businesses and convince them to invest in the company.

Police say a victim in Halton invested a large sum of money, labour and equipment and purchased vehicles for Havana Group Supplies.

Steven Sardinha, 48, of Hamilton was charged with fraud Over $5,000.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 1.

Sardinha has faced several fraud-related charged in the past.
